What is the Young Adults (YA) Wing?
The Young Adults wing of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation UK consists of a vibrant, dynamic and determined cohort of young adults, who lead by example and are dedicated to living out the teachings of their Beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in their day to day lives. This wing is carefully crafted to help young adults grow and flourish in their spiritual journey so that they can become the leaders of tomorrow. The YA wing forms a natural bridge between the valuable evolution from Sai Spiritual Education and Bal Vikas into full adulthood and mature members of society.
Young Adults act as beacons and engines of positive change both in their professional, personal and spiritual lives as they embrace character development, human values and spiritual transformation.
How does the Young Adults Wing benefit those involved?
“Young men and women, the future citizens of the world! The future of the country depends on the skill and the sincerity of the youth. Therefore, the necessary enthusiasm and encouragement must be generated among the youth. All my hopes are based on the students, the youth. They are very dear to me. The future of the world, good or bad, depends on your conduct. The country will be safe, secure, peaceful and prosperous only when your conduct is good. What the world needs today is not affluence and material comforts, but men and women of noble character. The country is bound to disintegrate if the behaviour of the young men and women is not on the right lines.”
(Sathya Sai Speaks; Vol 32, Ch 29: 21 November 1999)
The YA wing is an integral part of the SSSO UK, integrating and working alongside all other wings as well as centres to participate in spiritual, service and SSE activities locally, regionally and nationally. They also act as changemakers in the wider society by living their lives in accordance with Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings and aligning their thoughts, words and deeds to make their lives His message.
What are the typical activities of the Young Adults Wing?
Young Adults work proactively with everyone to drive activities for the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. In doing so, they empower themselves and others to do more, achieve more and be more. The YA wing is a multi-faceted wing with 5 key responsibilities.
Although not an exhaustive list, these activities exemplify the multi-faceted contributions of young adults. These empowered young adults showcase the effective learning, practice and embodiment of spiritual values emphasised in the life, message, and works of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
