Day 7 Overview

For the final time on this pilgrimage, Zone 6 devotees gathered once more for morning Darshan in Sai Kulwant Hall;  anchoring the day in Swami’s Presence.

The sacred resonance of Vedam chanting followed by melodious bhajans filled the air, immersing the pilgrims in divine vibrations one more time. As ever, this was an invitation to pause, reflect, and prepare their hearts for a day filled with bliss, wisdom, gratitude, and love.

Following Darshan, pilgrims assembled in the Satsangh Hall for an interactive and uplifting session with Shri Praveena Sir – Sanskrit scholar, senior teacher at the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, and a founding member of the Mandir Vedam Group. Blessed with an intimate connection to the Divine, Praveena Sir captivated the audience with his deep knowledge of Vedic chanting and covered topics including why did Swami ask for Vedas to be chanted, and the importance of chanting correctly.

He shared intimate recollections of Swami’s direct guidance – how in 1989, during a multilingual poetry programme, Swami personally selected him to represent Sanskrit even though his name had not been listed. It was a divine moment of initiation. He spoke of Swami’s loving feedback on verses he had written, including a correction that deepened the poetic meaning and expanded its expression of divine love. Throughout the session, he emphasised that chanting, done with sincerity and humility, holds immense transformative power, regardless of one’s fluency or understanding.

The audience was reminded that Vedam is not reserved for scholars. Like a patient who benefits from medicine without knowing its chemical makeup, one who chants with faith and dedication receives the full benefit of the sacred vibrations. Praveena Sir also recounted miraculous incidents, including being saved from a near-fatal accident with his niece – testimonies to Swami’s ever-watchful, ever-loving grace. He closed by encouraging everyone to continue learning, not just for technical precision, but to offer something heartfelt and true.

In the evening, following Darshan, the congregation received an address by Brother Sakthi Shanmugasathan, Deputy National President of the UK Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. Speaking with emotion and clarity, he acknowledged that every heart was now full, with love, devotion, and divine memories. On behalf of all Zone 6 pilgrims, he offered heartfelt thanks to Sri Rathnakar, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, the Global Council and all the Seva Dals for their unwavering support, warmth, and generosity. “We were always met with encouragement and a “yes to every request” he said, “and our hearts are filled with joy.”

Brother Sakthi recalled the many highlights of the week: the Balvikas procession, play and choir, the youth performance, the seva opportunities including Grama Seva and the visit to the ZP Girls High School, and the devotional offerings from Spain, Italy, and the UK. He reminded all that through these outward expressions of love, far more had been received inwardly. The week had also included six uplifting talks, daily Vedam chanting, and the grace of twice-daily Darshan. Reflecting on Sri Rathnakar’s words, he noted that Prasanthi Nilayam is our eternal home, where all are welcome, always.

He beautifully expressed that the true purpose of the pilgrimage was not merely a physical journey, but a sacred opportunity – a beginning. “This week has been nothing short of a divine experience,” he said. “It was not just about what we offered, but also what we received. A chance to breathe the sacred air, to be still, and to begin our transformation. May all who hear of this come to Prasanthi and awaken their soul.”

Introducing the final offering of the pilgrimage, he welcomed the Italian devotees once again, who reminded the congregation that “Love is the only feeling that belongs to God.” Their musical presentation, filled with bhajans and mantras, was a soulful finale to a week of sacred sharing. As the melodies soared and emotions deepened, pilgrims felt the full weight of what had unfolded. As the final Darshan of the pilgrimage approached, there was a quiet, collective realisation: this chapter was closing. And with that came a heartfelt prayer whispered in unison across hundreds of hearts:

“Swami, when will You call us again?”
