Day 2 Overview
With hearts full of gratitude and devotion, our morning began with a 7 AM line up and orderly walk in pairs towards the sacred Sai Kulwant Hall. The sisters were wearing matching elegant teal and copper sarees, and the brothers donned their fresh white suits – a beautiful symphony of unity. Once seated, the powerful chanting of Vedams occured, followed by the angelic array of bhajans sung by the Prashanthi Mandir Bhajan Group.
The day had arrived for our much-anticipated Grama Seva, and with hearts full of joy and anticipation, three buses, packed to the brim with pilgrims, embarked on the journey to the town of Kadiri, nestled in the Sathya Sai District. The air was charged with excitement, and Sai bhajans echoed through the buses as we made our way, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to serve the villagers. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an abundance of love by the villagers, who had come from 44 distant villages to meet us. It was an awe-inspiring sight—simple, humble people who, despite living away from Puttaparthi, were deeply touched by our Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s presence. As we journeyed through rural Andhra Pradesh, passing lush green fields and villages, the weather its itself seemed to bless us, with gentle rains and the sun’s rays emerging as we approached Kadiri, filling the landscape with beauty. Upon arrival, we were met with a vibrant display of local culture and joy. The villagers, with their faces aglow, greeted us with music—talented musicians played the saxophone and dhol , and the women danced the Garba – all reflecting the deep love and reverence these villagers have for Swami.
Soon after, we made our way to the Sri Datta Gardens Building where a few hundred villagers had gathered to join us in this beautiful expression of love and unity. The energy was palpable, anticipation and excitement electrifying the air. We began the program with a deep invocation—three oms followed by soulful bhajans, their melodic chords resonating in the hearts of all present. The President of Sri Sathya Sai District addressed the gathering in Telugu, his words setting the tone for the day’s spiritual exchange. Brother Shitu followed, reminding us all of our oneness, and expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this way. Brother Pratapbhai spoke with warmth and affection, acknowledging the boundless love we had received from the villagers, while Ketanbhai echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that we were here because of the love we share for Swami—a love that unites all of us, no matter where we are from.
Sri Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, addressed the congregation in Telugu, highlighting that Zone 6 had traveled from the UK and Europe, to visit Prasanthi Nilayam, the Home of our Bhagawan, the abode of peace. He reminded the villagers that, in Indian culture, it is customary to bring a gift when visiting someone. Today, Zone 6 brings a special gift to this extended family, symbolizing Swami’s growing presence and love in this region. 500 parcels containing dry ration kits, dhotis and sarees were distributed to the villagers.
The district carries Bhagawan’s name in every aspect of life—on birth and death certificates, passports, and even bank accounts. Sri Ratnakar shared a touching story of a local man who, after collapsing and being presumed dead, miraculously revived when a picture of Swami and a Hiranyagarbha lingam was placed on him. This man has now lived for over 20 years, a powerful reminder that we are all in the Lord’s hands, guided by His divine grace.

During afternoon darshan, after the Vedam chanting, we were blessed with a heartfelt presentation from devotees of Spain and Italy. The Italian group sang with such love and devotion which echoed. throughout the Sai Kulwant hall – which was met with an uproar of appreciative applause. They were blessed with a photo opportunity infront of the samadhi and given gifts.Mr. Antoni Griera, the National Country President of Spain, shared an inspiring talk on Swami’s divine grace and will, emphasizing that, despite being from different countries, we are all united as one Sai family under the loving guidance of our Bhagawan – a common theme running not only through today’s programme but the pilgrimage as a whole. This was followed by a beautiful medley of devotional songs from the devotees, filling Sai Kulwant Hall with divine vibrations that were felt by all present, creating a truly spiritual atmosphere.
The evening discourse by Sir Siddhartha Raju, Sir Ravikumar, and Sir Amey Deshpande illuminated the spiritual essence of a pilgrimage to Prashanthi Nilayam. The question was raised: why come to Prashanthi when Swami is omnipresent? The answer lies in understanding that a pilgrimage is more than just a physical journey; it is an internal, transformative one. The external journey is clear and structured, but the internal path requires self-inquiry, spiritual discipline, and conscious effort. This inner journey, they shared, is where true transformation happens. The speakers emphasized that being present in Swami’s energy—whether through the serene environment of Sai Kulwant Hall, the symbolism of its colours, or through his teachings—helps us align with qualities like Peace, Protection, and Prosperity. Above all, they spoke of the power of keeping the Divine Name alive in our hearts. Swami gave Bhajans as a tool to help devotees internalize his name , making it a part of daily life. Bhajans, they explained, are not merely songs but living scriptures that open up new layers of meaning with each verse. The real pilgrimage continues beyond Prashanthi if we carry the essence of Swami’s presence—through every thought, word, and deed.
