About The Sri Sathya Sai Organisation UK CIO

A Spiritual Organisation Dedicated to Unity, Service, and Transformation

Founded by Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the 1960s, the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation United Kingdom CIO (SSSO UK) is a multifaith, spiritual and humanitarian organisation with Sathya Sai Centres spanning across the UK. These centres provide a focal point for each member of the organisation to congregate on a weekly/monthly basis for regular worship as well as to participate in spiritual and service activities at a local level.

The organisation provides a platform for members of all ages, faiths, cultures, nationalities and ethnic groups to come together for the single cause of serving humanity as part of their spiritual transformation. They live and breathe in the belief that: “Service to man is service to God”. The centres are open to all and provide an environment conducive to leading a spiritual and value-based life.

About the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation UK CIO status

What Is the Aim of the Organisation?

The aim of the organisation is to help each member to realise the divinity inherent within them. This is done through the spiritual, service, educational and young adult activities that take place within each centre. The organisation also aims to serve society and promote the harmony of all religions and unity of faiths.

What Are the Objectives of the Organisation?

The Sri Sathya Sai Organisation operates with three overall objectives, namely to:

  • Awaken to our own inherent divinity by following the nine point code of conduct laid down by Sri Sathya Sai Baba
  • Honour and implement the five human values of Truth (Sathya), Right Conduct (Dharma), Peace (Shanthi), Love (Prema) And Non-violence (Ahimsa) in thought, word, and deed
  • Live by the motto ‘Love All, Serve All’ and practice Ceiling on Desires in relation to time, money, food and energy

What Are the Main Activities of the Organisation?

These are shaped under four interdependent spheres of activity or wings:

  • Service
  • Spiritual
  • Education
  • Young Adults

There are a plethora of activities open to adults, young adults and children. Within each wing there is something to suit everyone’s interests:

  • Studying the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the sacred literature of all religions
  • Group devotional singing or bhajans
  • Veda chanting and spiritual meditation
  • Parenting programmes
  • Sai Spiritual Education or Bal Vikas (a bespoke human values programme for children)
  • Service projects (blood donation drives, healthcare days, visiting day care centres, medical camps, feeding the homeless to name a few)

Every activity is open to all sections of society and everyone is welcome.
