Region 3 - London East & Central

Overview

Region 3 comprises of London Boroughs of: Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Camden, City of London, Enfield, Hackney, Havering Islington, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Westminster, Counties of Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire (Except Boroughs: Dacorum, Three Rivers, Watford) and Milton Keynes.

There are fifteen Centres and five Groups under this Region: Arkley, Bedford, Bedford Foster Hill, Chelmsford, Colchester, Edmonton, Hatfield, Ilford, London Central (Russell Square), London East (Upton Park), Luton, Manor Park, Mill Hill, Milton Keynes, Stevenage, Suffolk - Ipswich East, Three Counties, Thurrock and Walthamstow.

Activities

Main activities are:

Prayer meetings consisting of Vedam chanting, Devotional singing, talks on spirituality and study circle. About 250 children attend Sai Spiritual Education. Service activities include feeding the homeless, collection and delivery of supplies to the needy, visiting the elderly and physically and mentally challenged people. The region also works with organisations such as the Primary Care Trust, offering health awareness clinics. Medical camps abroad are supported by providing medical staff and supplies.

The Youth participate in the Youth Self Awareness Programme (YSAP) and other activities in the region.

The Region has an active Ladies wing. Some of the activities that they get involved with are: Study Circles, Ladies Retreat, workshops for Bhajan singing, Garland making, Yoga, meditation, cookery demonstrations, knitting for 'Something Beautiful for God project' listening to guest speakers and an interfaith walk.
