Introduction

'Prayers for Universal Peace'

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Om Sri Sai Ram.

With the divine blessings of our beloved Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we are delighted to welcome all devotees to participate in the special programme, Prayers for Universal Peace, being held on Sunday the 9th July 2017, between 08.30 - 16.30, in the hallowed precincts of the Sri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple, Dudley Road East, Tividale, Birmingham B69 3DU.

Prayers will be dedicated for the welfare of all the people who suffered in the recent calamities, especially people affected by the London fire and by the recent attacks.

"It is the foremost duty of everyone to pray for the peace, welfare and happiness of all people in every country. Everyone must strive to promote the peace and welfare of the world. You must broaden your outlook, shedding the narrow concern about your own wellbeing, and developing the eagerness to promote the welfare of the world as a whole. You must recognise the basic truth that your individual well-being is bound up with the well-being of all people. On every available occasion recite the sacred name of the Lord". - Bhagawan Baba (sss19-07)

The day will be filled with the chanting of the Lord's Name contained in various sacred prayers, with sincere faith and love. Temple priests will be chanting various sacred hymns such as the Ganesha, Gayathri and Sai Gayathri Prayers and will be conducting the Rudra Ekaadhashaini Homam. Sai devotees, youth and SSE children will join in the chanting, thus amplifying the positive and divine vibrations within us, and all around us.

Like the previous year's, families will also have the opportunity to do Abhishekam. If you would like to take part in the pooja and Abhishekem please e mail events@srisathyasai.org.uk or telephone 07855424764 leaving your name, name of your Sai centre and the names of the family members who would like to participate, along with your contact details.

It is said that the mark of a genuinely godly person is to strive not only for his or her peace and happiness, but also for the peace, prosperity and happiness of the world as a whole. In this endeavour, it has been declared that there is nothing greater than prayer and chanting the Lord's Name, especially in this Kali Age.

Thus, we request all devotees to utilise this opportunity to come together and pray selflessly for the removal of the prevailing chaos and confusion, fear and anxiety in the minds of people in the world today. Let us join our hearts and souls in prayer for world peace and happiness as a special offering of gratitude to our most beloved Lord Sathya Sai.
