National Easwaramma Day Celebrations 2018

Dear Children, Brothers and Sisters,
Jai Sai Ram!

It is with great pleasure that I am writing to invite you to the National Easwaramma Day celebrations to be held on Saturday 12 May 2018.

This is an opportunity for our children, parents, teachers, young adults and devotees to come together from across the United Kingdom to express their heartfelt gratitude to our Divine Mother Sai and to the glory of motherhood.

Swami has dedicated Easwaramma Day as “Children's Day” the world over, and children are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways to express their gratitude and reverence to their parents who are their first Gurus.

Delivering a discourse on 22 November 1999, our dearest Bhagawan said:

“What are present-day scientists and technologists doing? Have they any idea? They assert that all that is on the earth is for the use and exploitation by man. Indiscriminate mining of all kinds of minerals and ores is carried on for so-called benefit of mankind. The earth is spherical. Systematic removal of material from one side causes imbalance as the other side becomes heavy. It is divine dispensation that maintains balance. This balance should not be disturbed. The loss of balance is the cause of earthquakes and other natural disasters. Man is not only causing imbalance on the earth, he is polluting the oceans with industrial and urban waste. Water pollution has reached a stage where people are forced to drink polluted water”.

As an offering and lead up to National Easwaramma Day, the National SSE wing of the Sathya Sai International Organisation - UK (parents, children and teachers) from around the country have participated in ‘Mother Earth – the Garden of Sai’ activity.

This offering has given us the sacred opportunity to put into practice Bhagawan’s eternal teachings of respect for the environment and natural resources, firstly in our daily lives, and thereafter in our Sai centers and in the community around us. The SSE children have been enthusiastically observing this nationally coordinated activity as a heartfelt offering for Easwaramma Day.

The program for the day will include: the children’s procession, pledge ceremony, group devotional singing and various performances. A key feature of this year’s program will be interactive activities for the children, all focused around this year’s theme of nature and the environment.

The planning team look forward to welcoming you on this sacred and joyous occasion.
